Anafric warns of the existence of food products that are attributed healing properties related to Covid-19

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has warned consumers of the detection of food products that are attributed curative or preventive properties related to COVID-19. These nutritional or health statements are not accepted and therefore constitute fraud.

The information to which AESAN has had access warns that, due to the growing concern of citizens regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been detected the existence of food supplement vendors trying to take advantage of the pandemic of the COVID-19 and consumer concern about it, attributing to its products properties to prevent, treat or cure COVID-19.

These vendors attempt to increase their profits through unauthorized and prohibited nutritional and health claims by promoting and selling food supplements.
