Asici and Interporc, campaign to promote ham in New York and Washington

Asici and Interporc present “Slices of Happiness”, a joint promotional campaign that gives happiness in NYC and Washington D.C. from a food truck, taking advantage of the celebration on March 20 of World Happiness Day. The United States ranks fifth as a destination for ham exports, after France, Germany, Portugal and Italy.

The campaign has toured the island of Manhattan and Brooklyn throughout Sunday, March 19, and will continue to do so throughout the week.

 

 

During this week the campaign will tour the most important streets of the very busy New York City, passing through iconic points such as Central Park, Wall Street, WTC, Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge, Chelsea Market, China Town, Little Spain, Rockefeller Center, and many other places in the Big Apple.

Along the same lines, it is expected that, during the tour of “Slices of Happiness” in Washington D.C., the food truck of happiness will reach places such as, The Capitol, Washington National Cathedral, Jefferson Memorial, Library of Congress, Lincoln Memorial , Washington Monument, and many more.

In total, during these four days more than 5 thousand trays of “Spanish JAMÓN” will be given away in the two US cities, showing the importance of this star product of our gastronomy, symbol of our tradition, exquisiteness and flavor.

The estimated production of hams and shoulders in Spain was about 46 million pieces in 2022, of which 32 would be Serrano Ham and 14 Ibéricos. Of all the production, last year 42,570 pieces were exported for a value of 38 million euros, the United States occupying fifth place as a destination for this product, both in volume and value, after France, Germany, Portugal and Italy.
