Germany promotes the development of slaughter through mobile slaughterhouses for small farmers and producers

Within the framework of the program to promote innovation Germany wants to expand slaughter through mobile slaughterhouses to increase farm diversity and value creation in rural areas. The program is intended to help create economic incentives for regional farms and artisanal slaughterhouses, both with respect to semi-mobile and fully mobile slaughter.

The number of slaughterhouses in Germany, especially the smaller and local ones, has been declining for years. Due to the progressive centralization of slaughter, it has become more difficult for many companies to find a slaughterhouse in their area. Smaller farms in particular can sometimes face additional economic challenges, also against the background of an already tense market situation.
