In the first five months of 2022, a total of 4,834 tons of goat meat were produced in Spain, which indicates an increase of 15.4% compared to the 4,190 tons that had been registered in the same period last year.
Andalusia is the autonomous community that leads national production, increasing its production by 17.8%, going from 1,778 to 2,095 tons. Canarias, which is in second position, remains with a slight decrease of 0.2%, while the increases are especially notable in the case of other important regions such as Murcia (+9.6%), Castilla y León (+64 .6%) and Castilla-La Mancha (+18.5%).
