Within the framework of the European campaign led by the Interbranch Organisation for Sheep and Goat Meat (INTEROVIC) Celebrate everyday moments with lamb, an initiative aimed at bringing EU lamb consumption into daily life through innovative, versatile formats adapted to current consumer preferences, lamb is expanding into new consumption formats and reaches the ready-meals aisle for the first time thanks to a collaboration with food company Lassal.

As a result of this agreement, Lassal has developed lamb ragù tagliatelle, a ready-made dish that combines the gastronomic tradition of lamb with the convenience and practicality demanded by today’s consumers, allowing them to purchase a fully cooked meal with quick and easy reheating at home or at work.
The new product, marketed in a tray format, will be available in 30 Carrefour supermarkets located in the Madrid, Valencian Community and Barcelona areas, as well as in 140 Consum stores. It will also be sold directly in Lassal shops in Madrid and Valencia.
With this initiative, INTEROVIC strengthens its commitment to innovation and format diversification, bringing lamb meat closer to new audiences and consumption occasions, while Lassal continues to expand its range of high-quality ready meals made with carefully selected ingredients.
This collaboration represents another step forward in modernising lamb consumption, adapting it to current lifestyles without compromising on flavour or gastronomic value.
In addition, as part of this new development line, INTEROVIC has announced that lamb will soon also be available in tray format on Amazon Fresh, Amazon’s online grocery service offering same-day or next-day delivery.
A campaign combining flavour, sustainability and territory
The European campaign Celebrate everyday moments with lamb highlights the environmental and social benefits of consuming suckling lamb, lamb and kid goat meat, among the most sustainable meats in the European Union. Their production in Spain, spread across more than 110,000 sheep farms and 75,000 goat farms, helps preserve rural landscapes, improve soil fertility, support biodiversity and prevent forest fires.
In addition, consuming these meats helps protect native breeds adapted to local ecosystems, promotes economic development in rural areas that might otherwise lack activity, and connects directly with Spain’s culinary tradition and culture.
The campaign also seeks to break the perception that lamb is only for special occasions, encouraging its consumption in everyday and informal settings. A well-established example is the lamb sandwich El Paquito, an easy, versatile and tasty option that removes access barriers to the product and has become popular in bars and restaurants across the country.
