One-Health on Antimicrobial Resistance: The largest event on antibacterial resistance in Europe

The Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) and the National Plan against Antibiotic Resistance (PRAN) organize the “One-Health High Level Event on Antimicrobial Resistance”, which will take place on the 18th and 19th October in Pamplona, Spain.

Antimicrobial resistance causes a great clinical, epidemiological and microbiological impact and must be addressed from a single or “One Health” perspective. This approach recognizes that human health and animal health are interdependent and linked to the ecosystems and environment in which they coexist.

The Spanish Presidency of the EU represents an opportunity to lead this issue, continuing the actions carried out in previous years, showing the firm commitment it has always had to this serious public health problem.

On 18 de octubre, the meeting of experts on antimicrobial resistance takes place. The work sessions focus on the new strategy against antimicrobial resistance 2025 and the communication strategies necessary to raise awareness among both professionals and the general public.

On  19 de octubre, the High Level Meeting on antimicrobial resistance in Europe will be held, which hopes to have the presence of ministers from the different Member States and senior officials from the main organizations and bodies that work to improve the situation we face. we face (WHO, UN, WHOSA, FAO, ECDC, African CDC, PAHO, EEA, EFSA, EMA, EAMI Network, G20).

This meeting is made up of different round tables, among which RAGNA will be presented as a global strategy model against antimicrobial resistance, integrated surveillance systems in Europe and intersectoral coordination between regions will be addressed.
