The strike of slaughterhouse inspectors in Catalonia is called off before Christmas

The CCOO union has called off a strike at Appeal Agrifood Group, the current concessionaire of the support service for the official veterinary inspection of slaughterhouses, cutting plants and game handling establishments in Catalonia, from December 18 to 22, just before Christmas.

The strike has been called off after reaching an agreement yesterday with the Department of Health of the Generalitat.

CC.OO. positively values that the Department of Health of the Generalitat of Catalonia has “committed to setting up a dialogue table with the two most representative unions in Catalonia to work on a consensual solution.”

While the negotiations at this table last, the processing of the draft decree to regulate this activity will be suspended, which planned to change the current public bidding model of the service for another based on direct contracting by meat establishments with previously accredited private companies. by the Administration, the object of the strike call.
