The Andalusian Parliament demands that the Government reduce VAT on meat and fish

The Plenary Session of the Parliament of Andalusia has approved this Friday a Non-Law Proposal (PNL) of the Popular Group of Andalusia demanding that the central Government undertake reductions in VAT on meat and fish and taxes on the agricultural sector. The initiative requests that the Government approve the tax reduction requested by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development regarding the reduction of net performance indices (modules) in the objective estimation regime of Personal Income Tax, applicable to those Andalusian agricultural activities that, during the 2023 financial year, suffered sharp declines in yields due to exceptional causes, according to the publication El Noticiero Digital.

It will imply a general personal income tax reduction of 50% for all agricultural sectors in Andalusia, 75% for livestock, 100% for beekeeping, and includes additional reductions for especially affected sectors.

A reduction in VAT on meat and fish is demanded from the national Executive; to seek a solution to VAT in the modernization of Next Generation irrigation; to suspend the plastic tax that affects the agri-food sector, and in general, to commit to not creating new taxes or applying additional burdens to any of the agents in the food chain.
