A new campaign launched in Scotland by Quality Meat Scotland aims to strengthen the bond between consumers and traditional butcher shops, highlighting product quality, trust, and expert advice as key purchasing factors.
The initiative stems from a consumer habits study that analyzed in depth what motivates customers to buy meat from specialized establishments and what barriers, in some cases, hold them back. The conclusions were clear: consumers particularly value quality, origin, trust, and personalized service, but they need more information and incentives to reintroduce the butcher shop into their regular shopping routine.

Based on this data, a multi-channel campaign has been designed, combining radio, digital advertising, social media, and print media, with the goal of achieving high visibility during one of the key months for retail.
One of the main pillars of the campaign is a series of short videos on social media, with an educational and approachable style, designed to build trust among consumers less familiar with shopping at butcher shops. The content offers practical advice and arguments that highlight the value of the shopping experience at these establishments.
In addition, the campaign includes point-of-sale support materials, such as printed recipes and digital promotional tools that butcher shops can use to enhance their own communication and boost sales.
The strategy focuses on a clear and consistent message: reminding consumers of the unique value that traditional butcher shops offer compared to other channels, especially in terms of personalized advice, traceability, and specialization.
