Communication and training: keys to antimicrobial resistance, new PRAN day on the European Day for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics

Since 2008, the European Day for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics has been celebrated every year, an initiative promoted by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). Its objective is to raise awareness about the risks associated with the misuse of antibiotics and to call for responsible consumption, both in human and animal health, to prevent the emergence and development of antimicrobial resistance.

 

 

 

The National Plan against Antibiotic Resistance (PRAN), coordinated by the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS), organizes this informative day to raise awareness among society in general and health professionals of the seriousness of the problem. of antimicrobial resistance.
