‘De Cerca’ Gives Voice to Female Leadership in the Meat Industry at Alimentaria

As part of the Alimentaria trade fair, a new edition of ‘De Cerca’ was held today. This initiative, promoted by Cárnica magazine, brought together leading female executives in the meat industry to share their experience, knowledge, and vision on the sector’s main challenges.

The event has established itself as a space for reflection and professional dialogue where participants addressed key issues such as innovation, training, and communication—three of the major challenges currently facing the meat industry.

Furthermore, this edition incorporated an innovative format, as the event was recorded in a “night show” style. This distinctive approach by Cárnica presented a challenge in how the content was communicated and undoubtedly contributed to making the event more dynamic, engaging, and appealing to the audience.

During the event, one of the most prominent ideas was the importance of communication as a strategic tool for the sector. The speakers agreed that effectively communicating the value of meat products is fundamental not only for connecting with consumers but also for combating misinformation and fake news that negatively impact the industry’s image.

In this regard, it was emphasized that today’s consumers are increasingly demanding and require greater transparency and access to information, especially regarding product traceability, the origin of raw materials, and production processes.

Another key point addressed was training, considered an essential pillar for developing new projects and ensuring the sector’s competitiveness. Participants stressed the need to invest in talent, skills development, and knowledge as drivers of growth and adaptation to a constantly evolving environment.

The event featured the participation of leading professionals in the sector, including:

Míriam Pérez Mena (Director of Cárnica – C de Comunicación), who served as moderator; María José Sánchez (CEO and founder of Los Extremeños); and Anna Canal (Director of Alimentaria). Isabel Redondo (Communications Director at Carpisa Foods); María Sánchez (Marketing Director at Noel); Ivana Mínguez (Business Area Sales Manager at Grupo Jorge); and Loreto Dolz (Manager at Grupo Vall Companys).

ANAFRIC has supported this initiative, reaffirming its commitment to promoting talent, equal opportunities, and fostering networking opportunities that contribute to the sector’s development.

‘De Cerca’ is thus establishing itself as an essential event within Alimentaria to showcase female leadership and promote knowledge exchange in the meat industry.
