International companies boost their participation in Alimentaria & Hostelco 2024, with Asian companies leading their return

Alimentaria&Hostelco, the leading international platform in food, beverages, food service and hospitality equipment, will return to the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona from March 18 to 21, 2024, with an increase in international offering of 15% compared to the previous edition . Among the nearly 900 foreign exhibiting companies, which join the 2,300 Spanish ones, the leadership of the Italian companies and the return of the Asian companies after the covid stands out.

As in previous editions, Italy once again leads international participation, with more than 50 firms and 2,365 m2 of surface area, and the support of the Italian Agency for Foreign Trade ITA – ICE and the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Spain, to which are added the regions of Piedmont and, for the first time, Campania. In addition, quality brands from the country, such as the Consorzio per la Tutela del Formaggio Grana Padano or the Consorzio Parmigiano Reggiano and more than 30 firms will have their own space in the Interlact, Fine Foods, Grocery Foods, Coffee, Bakery&Pastry, Intercarn, and Snacks, Biscuits and Confectionery.

After Italy, the countries that will occupy the largest exhibition space at Alimentaria&Hostelco 2024 will be Turkey (1,080 m2), China and Hong Kong (1,069 m2), Poland (981 m2), Portugal (796 m2), France (561 m2), Belgium (536 m2), Germany (514 m2), Netherlands (421 m2) and Argentina (379 m2). In most cases, they grow in size and number of companies compared to the previous edition. Likewise, the participation of the United States and Morocco notably increases.

Asian companies return

One of the novelties of limentaria&Hostelco will be the increase in the participation of Asian companies, especially those from China&Hong Kong and Taiwan, which did not have a presence in 2022 due to covid restrictions.

China will have nine large spaces with dozens of companies grouped under the umbrella of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce for Food Imports and Exports (CCCFNA) in International Pavilions, Expoconser, Snacks, Biscuits&Confectionery, Restaurama and Organic Foods. For its part, Taiwan will concentrate its proposals for foodservice professionals in the Restaurama sector.

Thailand, South Korea, Indonesia and Japan will also have a prominent presence, and will complete the offer of oriental gastronomy products in their countries’ pavilions, located in International Pavilions.
