The Spanish beef sector will meet again on June 3rd in Lleida on the occasion of the IX PronosVac Awards, awards organized by Mercolleida that recognize the operators and analysts with the greatest ability to anticipate the evolution of the market.
The ceremony will take place in La Llotja in Lleida and will mean the return of these awards to the capital of Segrià after two years, since the competition has an itinerant character and changes its location in each edition.
The PronosVac Awards are born in the heart of the MonVac table (Market in National Origin of Meat Vaccination), a reference forum in which producers, slaughterhouses and commercial intermediaries of recognized prestige at national level participate weekly. Every Wednesday, these operators meet at the Mercolleida facilities to analyze the market situation and provide key information on the evolution of supply, demand and marketing trends.

Based on these contributions, Mercolleida prepares the weekly quotes that serve as a reference for a large part of the Spanish beef sector. Before each meeting, the participants make a forecast about the final outcome of the session, a practice that has given rise to the PronosVac Awards.
The awards distinguish the analysts with the greatest number of hits accumulated throughout the year in three fundamental categories for the beef cattle market: Crossed Male, Crossed Female and Friesian.
Over the years, the PronosVac Awards have established themselves as a reference event for the sector, bringing together some of the main operators of the national market and highlighting the knowledge, experience and analytical capacity of the professionals who participate in price formation.
This year’s edition will once again become a meeting point for the different links in the beef cattle value chain, in a context marked by the evolution of international markets, production costs and the challenges of competitiveness faced by the Spanish livestock and meat sector.
