Provacuno, the Spanish beef interbranch organisation, has once again demonstrated its social commitment with a new Christmas solidarity initiative held in Madrid, supported by the city’s mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida. The event brought together 16 renowned chefs, several of them Michelin-starred, to prepare more than 1,000 meals for people in vulnerable situations.

This initiative, now in its fourth year, has enabled the distribution of over 1,000 complete menus across various shelters in Madrid. The main course featured an oxtail timbale, accompanied by a pumpkin cream starter and a nougat cream with brownie for dessert.
As in previous editions, students from the José María de Llanos Foundation Hospitality School, which hosts the initiative, were responsible for preparing the starter and dessert, actively contributing to this solidarity action aimed at socially vulnerable groups.
During his visit to the foundation, Madrid’s mayor highlighted the involvement of Provacuno and the participating chefs, stressing the importance of offering a special dining experience to women facing particularly challenging circumstances, such as social exclusion or gender-based violence, with beef as the main ingredient of the menu.
Provacuno’s director, Javier López, emphasised the strong social commitment of the Spanish beef sector and its close ties to rural areas, where cooperation and collective effort are key to sustainable development, social cohesion and the preservation of traditions.
The solidarity event benefited from the voluntary collaboration of chefs Iván Cerdeño, Mario Sandoval, Fernando del Cerro, Miguel Ángel de la Cruz, Juanlu Fernández, Juanmi Carrasco, Fran Martínez, Rocío Parra, Kisko García, Javier Estévez, Javier Aranda, Teresa Gutiérrez, Nacho Solana, Roberto Martínez, Rafa Centeno and Diego Rodríguez.
