“Beef Target,” the photography contest through which the Interprofessional Beef Organization (PROVACUNO) aims to highlight the daily work of farmers, processors, and distributors in the sector, as well as the rural environment, sustainability, and beef itself, is now in its seventh edition with a revamped format. The entry period opens today, June 22, and will run until September 20.

The contest introduces three new categories designed to strengthen its connection with the public and reflect the human, gastronomic, and environmental value of the beef sector. Prizes of €500, €250, and €100 will be awarded to the three best entries in each category.
Thus, the category ‘Nourishing Stories’ focuses on beef from a culinary perspective: it seeks images that capture the final result of recipes: stews, roasts, grilled dishes, traditional and modern preparations, etc. The dish is the star. Studio photographs, professional kitchen photography, and everyday scenes related to enjoyment and sharing around the table will also be considered.
‘Rural Succession’ aims to be a tribute to generational change and to youth as the driving force of the sector. This category seeks to reflect family stories, the entry of young people into livestock farming, their connection to the land, tradition, and hard work.
The third category, ‘Beef Planet Remix’, is born from the fusion of sustainability and digital language. It is designed for photographs adapted for social media, showcasing beef cattle in vertical format as an active part of the landscape: animal welfare, biodiversity, landscape management, fire prevention, and coexistence with the natural environment. The use of filters and creative tools from platforms like Instagram or TikTok is permitted.
“The seventh edition of ‘Objetivo Vacuno’ consolidates a project that is already a benchmark and takes a step forward to connect with new audiences, especially young people. Every year we break participation records, demonstrating that beef inspires creativity, passion, and a commitment to sustainability,” emphasizes the Interprofessional Association.
The deadline for submitting photographs to the competition through the website www.provacuno.es/objetivovacuno is September 20th. Each participant may submit a maximum of 10 images, regardless of the chosen category. Photographs created using artificial intelligence will not be accepted, thus guaranteeing the authenticity and photographic nature of the competition.
After the competition closes, the jury, made up of experts, will select the best photographs, which will be published on PROVACUNO’s social media channels and may serve as an image bank to showcase beef, the work of farmers, processors, and butchers, as well as life in towns and villages throughout Spain.
