INTERPORC underscores the importance of this new agreement, which will expand the list of authorized products exported from Spain, such as stomachs, highly valued by Chinese consumers, and increase sales of other products already present and with high added value, such as cured hams.

The Asian giant is one of the main markets for Spanish pork. In 2024, exports to China reached 540,000 tons, with a value exceeding €1.097 billion, representing almost 20% of the total export volume and 12.5% of the value of the sector’s foreign sales.

INTERPORC Director Alberto Herranz emphasized that these figures “are the result of the trust generated by our production model and the international recognition of the high standards of quality, food safety, animal welfare, and sustainability that characterize Spanish pork.”
