ANAFRIC, the meat business association, and Alimentaria, through its Intercarn exhibition, have signed a collaboration agreement with the objective of strengthening the visibility, competitiveness and internationalization of the Spanish meat industry in the framework of Alimentaria + Hostelco 2026.
The agreement establishes a strategic alliance aimed at promoting joint promotion, communication and positioning of the meat sector, both nationally and internationally, during the next edition of the competition, which will be held from March 23 to 26, 2026 in Barcelona.

By virtue of this agreement, ANAFRIC is officially recognized as a collaborating association of Intercarn 2026, actively participating in the dissemination of the show among its associated companies and in the promotion of Intercarn as a reference event for the meat industry. Also, the president of ANAFRIC who is part of the Organizing Committee of the event, further strengthens the sector’s representation in the strategic bodies of the show.
In this context, José Friguls, president of ANAFRIC, has pointed out:
“The collaboration with Alimentaria reinforces our commitment to the promotion of the meat sector in the main international forums. From ANAFRIC we will work to make Intercarn 2026 a platform of reference for our associated companies and for the sector as a whole.”

In the words of Ricardo Márquez, director of Intercarn:
“The agreement with ANAFRIC consolidates Intercarn as the main meeting point of the meat sector and reinforces our commitment to an increasingly international offer, innovative and aligned with the real needs of the industry.”
Both entities will work in a coordinated manner to highlight the strategic role of the meat sector within the food chain, highlighting key aspects such as innovation, internationalization, business generation and brand projection of the companies participating in Alimentaria + Hostelco 2026.
Intercarn 2026, the largest exhibition of meat products and food products, will once again be one of the main drivers of the event, with an expected growth of 10% compared to the previous edition and already occupying 25% of the total area of the exhibition. The event will bring together more than 350 national and international companies, with an offer ranging from fresh to processed, cured or pre-cooked products, and will have an increase in international buyers from strategic export markets, such as the Middle East.
