ANAFRIC highly values its participation in Alimentaria 2026 and strengthens its international positioning

ANAFRIC, the meat industry association, gives a very positive assessment of its participation in Alimentaria 2026, held from March 23 to 26 at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona, consolidating its position as a key meeting point for the Spanish meat sector on the international stage.

During the four days of the trade fair, ANAFRIC carried out an intense agenda of institutional and business activities, notably its participation in the International Halal Congress, where growth opportunities in strategic markets and the importance of halal certification as a lever for internationalization for meat companies were addressed.

The association also held several meetings with representatives of the government and sector organizations, with the aim of conveying the sector’s main concerns, strengthening institutional dialogue, and making progress on key issues such as competitiveness, internationalization, and sustainability.

One of the main focuses of ANAFRIC’s participation was its group stand, which featured 12 co-exhibiting companies. All of them achieved their goal of expanding their professional network, generating new business opportunities, and strengthening relationships with national and international clients.

In this regard, the exhibitors agreed on the high level of international buyers at this edition, something not seen with this intensity since before the pandemic. Furthermore, the attendance recorded on Tuesday was described as one of the highest in recent years.

The fair has thus once again demonstrated its role as a strategic platform for promoting Spanish meat products, in a context marked by the opening of new markets and the need to adapt to the demands of the global consumer.

The president of ANAFRIC, José Friguls, spoke very positively about the association’s participation: “Alimentaria continues to be an essential event for the sector. This year, we strengthened our presence, both at the institutional and business levels, and witnessed the great interest that the Spanish meat industry generates in international markets. Our members were able to make valuable contacts and open new business avenues, which confirms that we are on the right track.”

Friguls also highlighted ANAFRIC’s role as a representative of the sector: “These meetings also allow us to convey the real needs of our companies to the government and continue working to improve their competitiveness in an increasingly demanding environment.”

Next event: Alimentaria 2028

Following the success of this edition, ANAFRIC is already looking ahead to the next Alimentaria 2028, which will be held from March 20 to 23, 2028, with the aim of further boosting the presence and growth of its member companies both nationally and internationally.
