Spain exported 115,660 tonnes between January and July 2026, generating revenue of €929.6 million.

Fresh or chilled beef is strengthening its presence abroad. According to ASAJA, based on provisional data from Spain’s State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT), Spanish exports increased by 6.8% in volume and 14.9% in value during the first seven months of 2026 compared with the same period of the previous year.

Portugal and Italy were the leading destinations, receiving 33,465 and 22,188 tonnes respectively, followed by Algeria, with 16,883 tonnes. By contrast, frozen beef exports fell by 11% to 19,018 tonnes.

Live cattle followed a different trend: exports of bovines weighing more than 300 kilograms fell from 50,570 to 17,702 head. In this category, shipments to Morocco dropped from 36,316 animals to none. Sales to Lebanon and Italy did not offset this decline.
