Aid for the private storage of beef, goat and sheep meat is now available

In response to the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the paralysis of the productive sectors, as a result of the declaration of the state of alarm that has forced the confinement of the population and which has resulted in a decrease in the demand for certain products for beef, sheep and goat meat, the Commission has published Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/595 of 30 April 2020 granting aid for the private storage of beef, sheep and goat and fixing the amount of aid in advance. To guarantee a harmonized application, it is necessary to set minimum criteria so that the actions of the paying agencies, in the exercise of their powers, are carried out in a coordinated manner. These criteria have been agreed between the FEGA (Spanish Agrarian Guarantee Fund) and the different autonomous communities.

Where does the polluting CO2 come from?

At Anafric we echo a news story published in the Diario de León. Contrary to the theory that made the field responsible for excess C02 emissions, caused by climate change, the new data support that livestock management is not to blame for this burden. Recent records show that ranching is not the primary cause of climate change. Data from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge indicate that livestock meat productions represent only 7% of the total GHG emissions in our country. The livestock production, meat processing and marketing sectors have continued to carry out their activities since the declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic to keep the population adequately supplied with safe and quality food.

The UECBV asks the Commission to urgently introduce market and sector support measures to help operators and producers in the most affected sectors

Spain proposes a European fund of 1.5 trillion euros with perpetual debt
